Hi, I’m Emily Hurtado, a Mexican-American designer born in Los Angeles and raised in the Inland Empire, and I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design & Visual Experience with a minor in Journalism & New Media from California Baptist University. My love for design began when I was young, as I constantly drew, doodled, and created handmade birthday cards for friends and family, signing my name on the back of each card I sent out. That creative spark evolved into a passion for branding and advertising design, where I enjoy starting from a blank canvas and creating visual identities that convey powerful, lasting messages. I’ve gained experience through projects with the CBU Wrestling Team, where I developed strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver and collaborate on creative work. I aim to collaborate with small businesses and organizations, helping them build or reimagine their brands through design and social media. Outside of design, I’m a huge Dodgers fan and love spending time with my friends and family. For me, design and journalism are about turning curiosity into creativity.
